The 49ers got off to a bit of an inauspicious start as the Chargers jumped on top early thanks to a jump ball Vincent Jackson turned into a touchdown. The offense got a big early first down but couldn't convert a 3rd and 2 and had to punt away. Thankfully the 49ers defense stepped up with a big stop. Patrick Willis forced the Chargers into a 3rd and 13 with a beautiful one handed tackle (courtesy of his club) and Justin Smith pressure forced a poor pass by Rivers and the punt.
