49ers vs. Packers: Packers Pulling Away

Things have officially started getting ugly as the 49ers find themselves trailing 31 - 16. The 49ers had gotten things close in the first half, but the Packers have made their adjustments and are really handling their business in the second half. The 49ers players are failing to execute in a variety of ways and it's costing them desperately. The secondary's tackling really couldn't be any worse at this point. Vernon Davis had a tough drop, although given how many he's held onto while getting rocked in the end zone, I'm disappointed but will survive. The Ted Ginn pass was just a touch to far towards the sideline and the 49ers were forced to punt.

The 49ers have shown some more willingness to go deep at times this game, but when the plays aren't connecting, there's only so much you can take away from it. They now trail by two touchdowns (and a 2-pt conversion). Things could certainly be worse, but it's hard to think the 49ers can get the two TDs necessary. I'd have to imagine after the last two wide open receivers missed completions that the Packers will look to buckle down their deep coverage and be more willing to give up dink and dunk stuff on this next drive.

On a side note, even with all the sarcasm, I'd like to thank people for calming down a little in the last post. People can complain about bad things happening while still not going off half-cocked.
