As some of you have noticed, we've been getting quite a few spammers lately. On a somewhat related note, people can join the site right away with no waiting time. I've decided to change the settings so there is a 1-day waiting period for people to register at the site. Basically, once you register, you'll have to wait 24 hours to start posting. This might deter some people, but if you really want to be a part of this community, 24 hours is not exactly the end of the world.
I figure the upside to this is that spammers will likely go away (assuming they haven't already registered and have not yet been banned) and we'll hopefully get high quality members joining. Also, I can manually approve new members ahead of time if they look legit. I just wanted to give everybody a heads-up since I know we have a lot of lurkers that wait a bit to join.
