Niners Nation conduct and general decency

Over the weekend, we had a situation develop where individuals were attacking each other on extremely personal levels. I do understand that things can get heated, but the upside to posting on the Internet is that if somebody says something that bugs you, you can take a moment to think about your response and hopefully take the higher road. Unfortunately that is not always the case.

This is not a matter of who was right and who was wrong. That will only lead to further bickering. Instead, I simply want to reinforce the general code of conduct we have at Niners Nation.  When you join the site you have to agree to our Membership Agreement/Community Guidelines. I know most people don't bother reading it so I'm going to just mention it again.

The first sentence includes the phrase "please be respectful of your fellow readers." I realize that might be vague for some folks, but just to clarify, that means no personal attacks. If you have a problem with the way somebody expresses their opinions, you can state this, but do not call them an idiot or belittle their general existence. Make your opinion in a respectful tone and then move on.  On the other hand, if someone does attack you, that does not give you the right to respond in an equally childish manner. If you feel the need to respond, again, be respectful. Personal attacks simply not acceptable EVER. I don't think I can be any more clear.

Or as Dalton said, "Be Nice." And as far as when the time comes to not be nice, it only exists in game and draft threads (A small bit of language in this clip). Remember, we're all on the same team when it comes to the 49ers. We love this team and only want the best for them. If anybody has any questions, post them in the comments or email me at ninersnation@gmail.com.
