100 in 100: Tyson Alualu (73 of 100)

27 DAYS UNTIL THE DRAFT...

Tyson Alualu played his college football at the University of California. He played all four of the years he attended and played as a defensive tackle. In his last two years was one of the best players on The Golden Bears defense.

However, it seems uncertain in what position Alualu will play at the next level considering he is pretty much a tweener. He played defensive end in college and he may not be a good fit in the pro's as an interior lineman due to his lack of bulk, size, and height, although certain teams may consider him as one. I think because of his motor and high energy, he could potentially be a great fit as a 3-4 defensive end.

Alualu received an invite to the Senior Bowl that took place a couple months ago and did fairly well for the limited action he saw in the game. The Golden Bear up until the end of his career continued to get better and better and never really digressed in his play. The next step for him was the NFL Combine in which he was a top-performer in the 3-cone drill; one that is fairly significant for his position.

There are more and more player emerging from Hawaii as the years pass us by and football is becoming more and more focused on in that state. Alualu was scouted as the number two player coming out of the state of Hawaii when in high school and ultimately ended up in Berkley.

Below the jump, we'll take an in-depth look at some of Tyson Alualu's collegiate accomplishments and highlights.

This video is a bit fuzzy in places but you can still get a good feel for what he brings to the table. He wears jersey #44.

SUMMARY AND PROJECTION:

Overall, Alualu is a productive force with a high motor. He has deceiving power and has enough strength to drive offensive linemen in to the backfield. He has enough pass rushing ability to stay on the field for third downs or passing situations. He does however lack speed and a bit of agility; enough to set him back as a second to third rounder. Alualu is 6'3" 295 LBS.

Possibilities -- 2nd Round: Picks 49-64, Round 3: Picks 65-95.
