100 in 100: Kurt Coleman (91 of 100)

9 DAYS UNTIL THE DRAFT...

Kurt Coleman is a guy who contributed to his college team all four years that he attended. The Ohio State Buckeyes have produced quite a bit of talent in to the NFL throughout the years.

In 2006, Coleman contributed mainly on special teams. He saw a very small bit of action on defense. However, in 2007, Coleman was able to impress the coaching staff enough on special teams to see a lot more playing time on defense and ended up starting a majority of the games that year. By 2008, the Buckeye Safety had made a name for himself with his hard-hitting ability. His junior year was his best. 2009, his production fell off some and that is a big reason that his draft stock fell. His lack of size was a contributor to that as well.

Coleman is going to most likely start out as a special teamer, but he could have the chance to turn in to something later on. He has a great work ethic and drive that teams will like.

Below, we'll look at some of Coleman's college career accomplishments.

This highlight feed isn't too long but it gives you a bit of perspective on what Coleman is bringing to the table.

SUMMARY AND PROJECTION:

Coleman's field intelligence will make up a bit for his lack of size if he ever get's on the playing field to play defense. He has good ball skills but is rough around the edges in some of his technique. From time to time he takes bad angles and goes for passes leaving himself exploited. Coleman could end up being a solid sub-type-player. I just don't think he is going to have enough to start someday, but we'll certainly see as his career unfolds. He measured at 5'11" and weighed in at 192 at the combine.

Possibilities -- 5th Round: Picks 132-169, 6th Round: Picks 170-207.
