49ers RFA David Baas signs tender offer

The 49ers announcement that David Baas has signed his tender offer probably qualifies as the least surprising news of the day. I don't think this really impacts the 49ers draft plans. Baas has certainly been a capable performer, but never a standout, particularly given his second round draft status. The 49ers can still grab a guard in the draft next week and develop him for when Baas leaves town. Furthermore, if they do sign Chester Pitts at some point, Baas' contract does not force them into a situation where they feel obligated to play him if Pitts or a rookie outperforms him in camp.
