Adam Schefter is reporting that the Rams have traded former first round pick Adam Carriker to the Washington Redskins. Still waiting word on what compensation the Rams got, but as soon as we get that I'll update.

Update: So apparently former first round picks are only worth 5th rounders these days, and in the case of Carriker even less. The Rams and Redskins swapped 5th round picks to get the deal done (the Redskins used their 5th rounder that they got from the Eagles).

This does two things in the draft:

  • First, I think it actually improves the odds of the Rams going with Suh instead of Bradford
  • I think it's almost 100% sure that Haynesworth gets traded now.
Carriker was signed in 2007 to a 5 year, $12.8 million deal. His 2010 salary is $1.07 million, 2011 $1.42 million. He's been somewhat of a disappointment since he's been drafted. Stats and figures below the jump.

Season Team Tackles Interceptions Fumbles
G GS Comb Total Ast Sck SFTY PDef Int Yds Avg Lng TDs FF
2008 St. Louis Rams 15 9 23 22 1 0.0 -- 0 -- -- 0.0 -- -- 0
2007 St. Louis Rams 16 16 30 21 9 2.0 1 1 -- -- 0.0 -- -- 0
TOTAL 53 43 10 2.0 1 1 0 0 -- 0 0 0

In other news Donovan McNabb is apparently pushing for T.O to join him and T.O is wanting it right back.

Jason Taylor has also joined the Jets. He signed a two year, $13 million deal that could be worth up to $3.75 million in the first year, and the rest depends on his performance.
