Golden Nuggets: Sticking To Convictions

Mornin' folks. We had quite a few links yesterday but I'm sad to report that today we aren't nearly so lucky. Still, the first link I'm going to throw out there should be some solid entertainment for you. It's a bit from an ex-scout about Alex Smith, and I personally feel that it's, more than anything, trying to redeem himself a little bit and stick to his convictions. Regardless of whether or not you think Alex Smith is a great quarterback or not, this guy doesn't exactly seem to... well it's hard to explain. One thing for sure though. Fooch agrees with me and you'll see his thoughts in the morning, so be here for that. Beyond that, I have a couple links so here they are. Keep in mind I also updated the Madden fanpost with some ratings - enjoy your links folks.

Here is the aforementioned post from the college scout. Again, the debate on Alex Smith is justified and ever-waging, I won't disagree with that. He should be scrutinzed.. But come on. (

I posted a short bit on it over at SBN Bay Area so head over and check that out. (SB Nation Bay Area)

Will Mike Iupati and Anthony Davis start week one? I believe they will, but beyond that I have some serious convictions about offensive linemen being rotated around. I just don't think it's good for the unit. To me, an offensive line has to be one cohesive unit, and when you rotate a guy in and out at right tackle, it breaks the flow. Sure it doesn't always show, but it does make a difference. I also think it can lead to sloppier play, and in turn, injuries. (

Dre Bly signed on with the Detroit Lions. Good for him. (

Rival Blog Buzz Revenge of the Birds took a look at the best tight ends in the NFC West, a look at their new offense, and a post talking about the possible extension from 16 games to 18. Field Gulls continues outlining the goals for the offensive line with a look at the center position and Chris Spencer, and then a season retrospective on the same player. Turf Show Times has a post about Chip Rosenbloom and his legacy with the team.

Yesterday On Niners Nation Kicked off with the Nuggets, Howie continued the Super Bowl tourney, we had a post about the passing of Don Coryell, Andrew had another fantasy football post,  a post about Dre Bly signing with the Lions and the progress they've made, an Around the NFL post, and Drew had some more NCAA prospect posts.
