The 49ers and Lions released their Wednesday practice participation reports and the most notable inclusion was guard Mike Iupati. The last couple weeks Iupati has been limited in practice due to a neck issue, but this latest report indicates he is dealing with a knee issue. Matt Barrows tweeted that Iupati had a bandage on his right knee. We'll have to wait and see what his availability will be for Sunday. Barrows mentioned he would like draw Ndamukong Suh, but I thought Suh played left defensive tackle. Wouldn't that place Suh across from Adam Snyder? Whatever the case, one of the guards faces a tough matchup.
Isaac Sopoaga was back in practice and limited which is big news. Staph infections are contagious and if there was concern about the staph infection spreading, he would not have been allowed to practice. My guess is he builds back up to full practice by the end of the week and is good to go for Sunday.
