The 49ers head on the road to face the Detroit Lions today in a battle of first place teams. The Lions are a four point favorite in a game that could be pretty tight most of the day. The 49ers are coming off a dominant victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while the Lions pulled away from the Chicago Bears in the second half of Monday Night Football.

There has been plenty of chatter between two fan bases that feel the league is not giving them enough respect. It remains to be seen what kind of "respect" either team will get after a win, but at the end of the day, who cares. If the 49ers keep on winning, the league will come around at some point. And if it takes raising the Lombardi Trophy to get that respect, so be it. All the team can do is win the games on its schedule. So hopefully they can go out and take Detroit's zero today.

GO NINERS!
