49ers Vs. Redskins: Rulers Of The Road!

OK, maybe that is a slight exaggeration. But it is still fun to say as the 49ers are now 4-0 on the road and continuing to roll along. It hasn't always been the prettiest of football, but it has gotten the job done and gotten the team to a place they have not been in nearly 15 years.

Of course, as Larry Grant tweeted, 7-1 is good, but 8-1 would be much better. The 49ers will welcome the New York Giants to town a week from today and have opened as modest 3-1/2 point favorites against the G-Men. The 49ers face their toughest task in recent weeks as the Giants bring a very solid squad to town.

8-1 would be great not only because it means one more win, but also because it would put the 49ers in an even better position for a possible run at a first round bye. I haven't wanted to talk to much about the playoffs, but given the combination of the 49ers win, the Seahawks loss and the Giants coming to town, this is the first game where the full implications are at hand.

The 49ers do have plenty to work on, but as they look to continue improving, there are bigger things to consider. A win over the Giants would be huge for continuing confidence and also the anticipated playoff benefits. For the first time in several years, we have not begun discussing the offseason and how right the ship for next year. This ship is moving full steam ahead.

Feels good to be 7-1. Would be better to be 8-1. Lol for sure
