Earlier today I posted a 49ers injury report and completely overlooked the fact that Frank Gore suffered an ankle sprain in the second quarter of the game. Gore powered his way through the game but reportedly was walking quite gingerly afterward. We likely won't know much more about the injury until Wednesday's practice participation report is released. Jim Harbaugh will chat with the media later this morning, but I would be shocked if there was a specific update on Gore's injury.

Looking ahead to the rest of the week, I would imagine Gore will either not practice Wednesday or be limited to some individual drills. Kendall Hunter would get the first team snaps in practice, although he is dealing with a dislocated finger. That should be something he can recover from in time for Wednesday's practice, but if not, Anthony Dixon would get the snaps.

The last time Gore was limited in practice, he ended up coming off the bench in the Eagles game. Hunter took all the first team reps that week and the team decided to start him. Gore happened to also rush for 100+ yards that game, so he had that going for him. It is worth nothing that the sprain against the Bengals was his right ankle, and this injury was to his left ankle.
