Since sustaining a reported grade one high ankle sprain a week ago Thursday, Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger has been sidelined and wearing a boot. The team put in an order a new ankle brace for him and it sounds like it arrived as Roethlisberger returned to practice today. He was only able to practice in limited fashion, but that is a fairly sizable step forward given how gimpy he appeared last week.
At this point I would be surprised if he does not play on Monday. Even if he has limited mobility on Monday, he showed last week he can still gut out some of the big throws, highlighted by his big pass to Antonio Brown late in the game. He might have been going on a bit of adrenaline at that point, but I'd imagine he will get a pain killer before the game and be ready to go. Another reason I expect to see him out there? Charlie Batch.
Other than that, there were no significant changes to the Steelers injury report. Maurkice Pouncey, Troy Polamalu and Emmanuel Sanders were all DNPs for the second straight day. I haven't seen any updates on Polamalu's status for Monday, so I shot a quick tweet to one of their beat writers. Pouncey remains a question mark and missing their center would be a sizable blow to the Steelers offensive line and an already slowed Ben Roethlisberger.
