The San Francisco 49ers and Pittsburgh Steelers both released their Week 16 inactives for Monday Night Football and as many expected, Ben Roethlisberger is active and starting. He is hobbled and is wearing an ankle brace and plenty of tape on the ankle. It will be interesting to see how the 49ers make him aware of their presence. He was reportedly struggling to move in pregame warm-ups so it will be interesting to see how it plays out over four quarters.
Joe Staley is active for tonight's game, but what is particularly interesting is that Daniel Kilgore is active for the first time this season. This could be due to a variety of reasons, the two most prominent being some concerns about Staley and/or concerns about guard play leaving the team wanting a backup option in case of struggles. It will be interesting to see if Kilgore is just a precautionary active.
