The 49ers NFC West championship guarantees the team a home playoff game, with the week of that game determined this weekend when the 49ers and Saints play their respective Week 17 contests. Since the 49ers will have at least one home playoff game, the team has put together a quick rundown of information for people looking to purchase tickets.

The specific dates and times of the game can only be estimated at this point. Sam Lam put together a possible scenario for the 49ers if they have the two or three seed. As the two seed, there is a good chance the 49ers would play their game Saturday, January 14 at 5:00pm PT. I have to wonder if the NFL would look to move the 49ers to an earlier slot due to a potential need for lights for the game.

Most folks here are not from the Bay Area, but for the people in the area or looking to travel to the area for a 49ers home playoff game, I've posted some pertinent details after the jump and you can read more HERE.

If you are a season ticket holder, you have to finalize purchase of your seats for the playoffs by December 30 (Friday). After that, on January 2 you will have the opportunity to purchase additional tickets before they go on sale to the general public.

If you are NOT a season ticket holder but are considering season tickets for next year, call 415-GO-49ERS to place a deposit for next season, which I believe will provide you with the opportunity to purchase playoff tickets this year.

If you are NOT a season ticket holder and are NOT considering season tickets for next year, single game playoff tickets go on sale to the general public on January 3 at 10:00am PT. Tickets will be sold via Ticketmaster over the phone (800-745-3000) and online (http://www.ticketmaster.com).
