Golden Nuggets: We Are All Aware There Will Be Football

One thing that has started to irk me more and more is seeing people on Twitter or television saying something along the lines of "Don't worry, we'll have football this year." We get that ... we get that when push comes to shove, these guys want money, and a deal will get down. Collectively, we all probably feel like there will be football in 2011. Some of us have different opinions as to when that football will actually take place, but my point is: the 49ers need every day of offseason they can get. Telling me that football doesn't start until September does nothing for me, because at that point, the 49ers will be totally screwed out of their chance to actually field a competent team who knows actual playbooks. It's not comforting. Stop saying it. There's only a couple links for you tonight, so let's get through 'em.

Jed York had a letter to 49ers fans, which I suppose is a decent gesture. I don't know what I was expecting from it, but after reading I was definitely a little underwhelmed. I suppose it wouldn't make sense for it to be in depth or anything, but I just feel like I was expecting more. This is coming from someone who feels like Jed York will eventually be a good owner. And now, Alex Smith can no longer work out at the 49ers team facilities. Screw you, lockout. (ProFootballTalk.com)

Here is Sando's latest mailbag post. (ESPN.com)
