2011 NFL Pro Days Schedule: Texas Longhorns In The Spotlight

The road to the 2011 NFL Draft continues as we approach the end of March. Today's 2011 NFL Pro Day schedule features Central Missouri, Cincinnati, Citadel, Missouri Western, Northwest Missouri State, Rice, and Texas. The Longhorns are the most pertinent team. After the jump I've posted a rundown of all the Texas players working out today. The three highest rated players are cornerbacks Aaron Williams and Curtis Brown, and defensive end/outside linebacker Sam Acho.

Aaron Williams is a guy who seems to be just outside the reach of the 49ers second round pick. I suppose the 49ers could move up a few spots to try and grab Williams, or maybe just wait and see what happens. Of course, this also depends on whether the 49ers are able to grab Patrick Peterson, or barring that, if they decide Prince Amukamara is the right guy at number seven. How long are people willing to wait to grab a cornerback in this year's draft? It seems like most people really want somebody in those first two rounds. However, the fluidity of this draft makes it difficult to figure out what's what.

Sam Acho is a guy who raises a similar question with regards to pass rushing outside linebackers. If the 49ers did not grab a Von Miller or Robert Quinn in the first round, how long are folks willing to wait for an outside linebacker. We've got a divided opinion as to the 49ers pass rushing OLB need so this is a bit of a tricky question. At the very least the team could use some depth help. It's a tough position to judge given the likely adjustments in scheme that we'll see with Vic Fangio.
