2011 NFL Draft Pro Day Schedule: Baylor Highlights First NFL Pro Day

The 2011 NFL Combine is officially in our rear view mirror as March is upon us. Drew will continue providing some reviews of the Combine over the coming week to better prepare you for the 2011 NFL Draft later next month. The road to the Draft quiets down a bit as we switch gears and start up NFL Pro Days at colleges around the country. A couple weeks back I posted a schedule of Pro Days for this month. I missed some schools in that post so I've updated the list. After the jump I've posted the list in table format in order of date.

Today's first Pro Days feature Baylor, Florida Atlantic, Tulane, and Utah State. None of the schools are traditional powers and Baylor is the only one of these four from a power conference. Nonetheless, there are a few players of at least some note that will likely be taking part in their respective Pro Days today. I know next to nothing about these guys, but I wanted to provide a resource. If you have some insight into some of these players, let us know in the comments.

Baylor would seem to have arguably the two biggest talents on display today in defensive tackle Phil Taylor and offensive guard Danny Watkins. Scouts Inc provides them with ratings of 88 and 85 respectively with Watkins actually ranking as the number one guard and Taylor ranking 32nd overall on the Scouts Inc big board. Mocking the Draft has to update their Top 200 but for now they've got Watkins at No. 39 overall and Taylor at No. 46 overall.

Florida Atlantic's two biggest names on display today are tight end Robert Housler and wide receiver Lester Jean. Mocking the Draft ranks Housler No. 135 and Jean No. 192. Scouts Inc rates Housler as the sixth ranked tight end.

While Tulane does not have any notable players working out today, Utah State has cornerback Curtis Marsh. Scouts Inc grades him out with a 51, ranking him No. 23 among cornerbacks. Mocking the Draft ranks him No. 103 overall and their No. 13 cornerback.

This isn't a who's who of talent like we'll see on days like March 8 or 9 (among others), but there are a few players worth checking out. Phil Taylor is a big boy weighing in at just over 330 pounds and could be an interesting option if the 49ers decided they wanted to bring in a young nose tackle. The 49ers have to figure out what's up with Aubrayo Franklin and where they want to utilize Ricky Jean-Franois, but Taylor is at least worth a look.
