2011 NFL Pro Days Schedule: T.J. Yates And Strong Pro Day Performances

The schedule of 2011 NFL Pro Days continues today with a light schedule as Eastern Washington is the only school in action today. Since we don't have any really significant players going today, I thought we'd take a look at something notable from yesterday. North Carolina had their Pro Day and the 49ers had GM Trent Baalke and College Scouting Director Joel Patten on hand for the workouts.

While they were likely their to see guys like Robert Quinn and Marvin Austin, they had a chance to observe an interesting performance from Tarheels QB T.J. Yates. In making his throws, Yates completed 110 of 112 passes, which would seem to get him on more radars in some capacity. In looking around the Internet, Mocking the Draft had a scouting report that seemed to echo most sentiments: Yates could make for a solid backup quarterback in the NFL.

Given the 49ers current quarterback predicament, it seems that odds would be high the 49ers would draft two quarterbacks this year. I suppose they could draft one and sign another eventually as an undrafted free agent (after a new CBA is done), but with such limited options at this point, it seems like the safe bet is that they go for two quarterbacks in the draft. I don't know if T.J. Yates is that guy, but do people see multiple QB selections for the 49ers later this month?
