2011 NFL Draft, 50 in 50: Titus Young - WR - Boise St. (22 of 50)

The security of the 49ers wide receiving corps is not exactly in tact just yet. Several of the receivers have yet to hit their potential or peaks.

Michael Crabtree was drafted a couple of years ago to be the Niner's go-to number one wide out but has not had an offensive system built for him to flourish in. The holdout his rookie season left a bad taste in a lot fans mouth's and some, still, to this day have nothing but unkind words to say about the former Texas Tech receiver. However, in the new offense in which Jim Harbaugh and his staff will install this coming season, Crabtree may have his final chance to wash away the doubt that some fans have toward him. If he doesn't do it this year, the impatient fans will undoubtedly grow more vicious in a calling for his head to roll.

Josh Morgan was a sixth-rounder when drafted. There was not too many fans that expected him to be the number two receiver on the team. Most, even in with a weak receiving corp at the time he was drafted thought he would have done as well as he has. Although he has his moments, Morgan remains inconsistent and does not show up on a consistent basis. He is one of the Niners more streaky receiver's.

The slot receiver is completely up in the air. Ted Ginn, just as he did in Miami, has shown that he does not have consistent enough hands to hold down a spot in that role. Kyle Williams, who was drafted last year in the sixth, was brought in to compete with Ginn and give him a run for his money. Much is left to be seen with Williams.

With that, it brings up the question in that, will the 49ers be looking to add another receiver? And if so, how early?

Boise State has been churning out NFL-caliber talent for some time now. Their receivers last year were among the best in the nation. Titus Young happened to be one of the most dangerous threats for the Broncos.

I'd like to take look at the option of Young below.

Some have referred to Young as the next Desean Jackson. However, Young does not possess the same exact speed as Jackson. His play-making and ability to create separation is where those comparisons as seen here in the video. His hands are on par with expectations of what an NFL wide receivers should be. His route running is not perfect but with a little bit of extra attention and coaching, Young could be one of the best slot receivers in the league.

Here's a look at his career stats:

Summary: As mentioned above, Young has the potential to be a very effective receiver at the next level. His bust potential is minimal and in the right round he will have been a safe pick. Mike Mayock of NFL Network had nothing but great things to say about the former Bronco in the week leading up to the Senior Bowl. Although Young did not have a bunch of targets in the game, his career at Boise State may be just enough for a team to take a chance with him in the earlier rounds.

PREDICTION: 2nd - 3rd Round.
