With less than two weeks to go until the draft, most folks are getting anxious.
It's likely that the players association as well as the owners may come to terms either on their own or forcefully by a judge here pretty soon also.
The possibility of having a regular season this year is looking very good at this point. Even though we've all sat here wondering what is going to happen exactly, the chances of an interrupted season are looking bleak.
If something is supposed to happen soon as most of the major reporting network sites are indicating, then it's quite conceivable that we will see teams changing their draft strategies last minute.
The 49ers have some glaring holes and they can stand to get better in other areas. One of the concerns is along the defensive line. It is up in the air as to who, what, and where players will be selected for San Francisco; and any other team for that matter
After the jump, we'll take a look at Stephen Paea, the defensive lineman out of Oregon State.
Stephen Paea has tremendous strength. He has the ability to push. move around, and flat out get by the competition. Rarely will you see Paea over-pursue an offensive ball carrier or the quarterback once he is behind the line of scrimmage. His technique however, is a bit rusty. But the good news for the young powerful lineman is that he will have countless hours to study film instead of college textbooks now. The time dedication will increase for Paea to fine tune his game.
Here are his career stats at Oregon State:

Summary: Even though Paea was injured in the offseason, I belive that he will return to form. His ceiling is very high with the tangibles that he is capable of. He will more than likely be a steal for a team in the later portion of the first round, or early second. But the bottom line for Paea is that he will need to be drafted by a team who has a very solid defensive line coach. He could potentially play at either a 34 defensive end position, or possibly even the nose tackle position at the next level.
PREDICTION: 1st - 2nd Round
