I'm just putting this together really quickly as the press conference is just about to start and I didn't know that Fooch didn't get a post up about this. Let me explain ... no, there is too much; let me sum up. The 49ers took Aldon Smith, the outside linebacker out of Missouri with the seventh overall pick yesterday, much to everybody's surprise. Literally everybody other than the 49ers were surprised by this, (much in the same way Fooch will apparently be surprised that we need an open thread ... what a neglectful leader) but you know ... I've said how I feel about the pick.
