Now that the 2011 NFL Draft is over, the next step would normally be for teams to gobble up five or ten undrafted rookie free agents. This is the time when teams get diamonds in the rough like LeGarrette Blount. Unfortunately we don't get that for now because of the NFL's lockout. The lockout was briefly lifted late Thursday after Judge Nelson's denial of a stay, but it was reinstated after the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals instituted a temporary stay while they figure out whether to grant a more long term stay pending the NFL's appeal.
It is possible that sometime this coming week, a stay will be denied and we could start getting undrafted free agents signed to various teams. As we wait for that to happen, we might as well be aware of the players that could be signed as soon as transactions are back in action. There are some really interesting players that slipped through the cracks yesterday. There are guys like Delaware QB Pat Devlin, Kentucky RB Derrick Locke (a personal favorite), Clemson SS DeAndre McDaniel, and North Carolina DB Kendric Burney.
