I'll admit that I've harbored a sense of mild guilt all week over the Shaq-themed Caption This we had last week. Shaq is automatic comedy gold. I know this. But it was an easy pull. As a proud writer for Niners Nation, I'm expected by our readers to bring 100% to the table every week, plus or minus a couple dozen percentage points, and I gave you 52%, plus or minus a couple dozen percentage points. I know the plus/minus here might seem small here, but that's just because our standards are so high.
Which is why I'm pleased as punch (get it?) to bring you this week's photo. It both amuses and frightens me. Which is also how I feel about boxing in general. So it's a perfect fit. If you're not sure exactly what makes this photo both amusing and frightening, I invite you to take a close look at Omri Lowther's face. Or, rather, his face dent. Then, look at the lady on the left. Then, look back at Omri Lowther's face dent.
If you're curious as to who that is providing Omri Lowther with his face dent, you can thank Brandon Rios. But don't worry. It was a fair fight. We have another photo in the archives from the same fight in which Lowther returns the favor. Boxing is fun. And scary. But for our purposes today, we'll go with fun.
And if you're curious as to why you're seeing a boxing photo on an football website, it's because I've been boycotting the use of football photos in this segment so long as the lockout is in place.
So let's have fun with this one. I'm pretty sure I'm giving you anywhere between 105 and 129 percent here, so take advantage of it. Think up a funny possible caption for the photo, tell us what it is in the comments section, and watch as your peers tell you how brilliant it was (or, in my case, watch as they don't). And then be sure to rec' any comments that make you laugh. That's how we keep score. Last week's winner was manraj7. Who will it be this time?
