Happy Birthday to our very own James Brady. While he's off doing whatever he's doing for his birthday, I'll be covering the Nuggets today and tomorrow. Although there is optimism on the labor front, there is still a lot of work to be done as the two sides work towards an eventual CBA that will get football back on track. I saw one report that indicated a new deal could be good for upwards of ten years. Long term labor peace like that would be huge.
In the meantime, one of the "bigger" stories to come out yesterday was the 49ers announcement that they would honor the recently deceased John Henry Johnson with a decal on their helmets in 2011. His sticker will go alongside one for Joe Perry. While we certainly wish they hadn't died, it's interesting that the 49ers will have one half of their million dollar backfield memorialized this fall. Both men also donated their brains to science to study the damage potentially incurred during their time on the football field.
