Golden Nuggets: Eternally Pessimistic Regarding The Lockout

Good morning everyone. Yesterday was another one of those news days that really got under my skin, because it was technically news without really saying anything. I remain eternally pessimistic regarding the lockout and the chances of actual, factual NFL football being played this year, but I still can't help but get a little bit excited whenever I see a headline pertaining to such things. So it is with great anger and disappointment that I write these Golden Nuggets this morning, as the bit of lockout news wasn't much for news at all, at least as far as understanding what exactly is going on is concerned. Oh well, we probably won't have football, and that's just how it is. Yay. Let's get to whatever links there might be. Enjoy.

Jim Harbaugh's playbook is similar to the one that Alex Smith learned as a rookie. So that's good for him in that regard, I really hope he can pick it up quickly. (SacBee.com)

Kawakami says that Smith is "destined" to sign a one year deal with the 49ers. I really wonder if it will be a one-year deal. I bet the pay is going to be pretty good, too. Beyond what he's actually earned, anyway. (MercuryNews.com)

There really is nothing about the Smith-49ers union that is easy. Smith has to endure all he was put through and the ire of the fans, while the 49ers have had to endure their "franchise" quarterback significantly under-performing for the better part of six seasons. (CSNBayArea.com)
