At the time of writing this, it looks like Garth DeFelice is going to fall to "Brett Favre's Media Whoring," which is a shame because I think either of those are strong candidates, but we're nearing the end of this Tournament of Badness. I think the winner is going to end up in the finals, but anything can happen at this point. Today, we've got the strong six seed "Blackouts" up against the somewhat sensitive topic (to Titans fans) of "Cortland Finnegan Not Getting Beaten Up More Often". No idea what's going to happen here.
So make the jump to read the descriptions of the participants for today, read full results from the opening round of the bracket, view the entire bracket. But first: remember, we are voting on what we believe to be the absolute worst thing of the two. If you're voting in a worst food contest, and you like pizza more than hamburgers, you would then vote for hamburgers in that matchup. Get it? Got it? Good. Make the jump.
(6) Blackouts
These are just the worst. People are punished for not going and paying for overpriced tickets, food and drink. If a team doesn't sellout, they get blacked out in that area. It's a vicious process that limits exposure for the team. I wish they understood that not a single person is going to think "Ah man, I can't watch the game on TV this week? I better buy a ticket!" No. They're going to just not watch. They're going to do without. Blackouts are the worst. That's really all there is to it.
(15) Cortland Finnegan Not Getting Beaten Up More Often
Now, I suppose I made a bit of an oversight the last time I explained this one. As it happens, quite a fewTennessee Titans fans got quite a bit upset when it comes to this. They insist that he's a great teammate and is active in the community ... that's all well and fine, that's also something I never disputed. I am exposed to Finnegan a lot less than they are, but they don't get is that I am exposed to what Finnegan wants me to be exposed to. I see him out there every couple of weeks being completely ridiculous and more than a little annoying, so when I see Andre Johnson lay the smackdown on him, I'm going to enjoy every bit of it (even if it wasn't that much of a beatdown at all). So yeah, him not getting beaten up more often for his antics on the field is a pretty awful thing about the National Football League, to be quite honest.
