The first two members of the San Francisco 49ers 2011 draft class have come to terms on contracts as offensive lineman Daniel Kilgore and fullback/potential linebacker Bruce Miller are signed, sealed and delivered. The contracts are for four years, and while more specific terms were not announced, the new rookie wage scale locks them into certain ranges. Matt Maiocco put together a rundown of what players could receive in their rookie contracts:
OL Daniel Kilgore, fifth round (No. 163)
First-year allocation: $415,075
Total four-year allocation: $2,282,913
First-year minimum allotment: $411,075FB Bruce Miller, seventh round (No. 211)
First-year allocation: $390,613
Total four-year allocation: $2,148,369
First-year minimum allotment: $386,475
I don't believe it is these numbers and only these numbers, but rather these are likely maximum figures allowed. While there likely wasn't much in the way of wiggle room, I'd imagine there was at least some. It's also worth noting that for draft picks in rounds three through seven there is a proven performance escalator that can boost the fourth year salary to the right of first refusal amount in that fourth year.
The 49ers have indicated they are still on schedule to get all their rookies in on time by the start of camp tomorrow.
