The 49ers QB Question Is Answered And It Is McLeod Bethel-Thompson

I somehow feel like that should end with "and Associates." After pondering whether the 49ers would find another quarterback to take some snaps with Colin Kaepernick and eventually Alex Smith, the team finally made its move today and signed former Sacramento State, UCLA and San Jose Sabercats quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson. MBT originally went to UCLA after being recruited out of high school by Jim Harbaugh when he was at USD. He chose the Bruins instead but transferred to Sacramento State after Karl Dorrell was fired

MBT (it's just much easier that way) actually has more professional experience than any other undrafted rookie free agent in the league. MBT played at Sacramento State in 2010 but then hooked on with the San Jose Sabercats of the Arena Football League for part of their 2010 season. He appeared in 12 games and was 20-of-43 for 220 yards, three touchdowns and one interception.

I'd imagine he's a camp body for now. I'm still wondering if the 49ers will find a free agent out there. Given how the Ochocinco news came out of nowhere, I suppose anything is possible. The 49ers are likely holding some of their cards close to the vest for now.
