49ers-Seahawks Injury Report: Dashon Goldson Sits Out Practice

The San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks released their first practice participation reports of the 2011 NFL season and it is a fairly limited list. For those that don't know, the final injury report is released on Friday, but on Wednesday and Thursday in a normal game week (Sunday game) the teams release practice participation reports.

On the report, teams list players that are Out (Definitely not playing), Did not participate in practice, Limited participation in practice, and Full participation in practice. The last one is not a list of every healthy player on the team, but rather players with health question marks that are able to fully participate in practice.

In looking through Jim Harbaugh's first practice participation report, his ability to hold his cards close to his chest may be showing through again. The only 49ers player on the injury list is Dashon Goldson, who did not participate in practice. On the other hand, players like Shawntae Spencer, Reggie Smith and Michael Crabtree do not even appear on "Full participation in practice." In years past, players like that (coming off very recent injury concerns) would be in that final category. It has me thinking that Coach Harbaugh is playing a little coy with his participation reports.

I could very well be wrong on this, but given how little Coach Harbaugh seems to want to give out, it would not surprise me. And if it makes it that much harder for the Seahawks to prepare, so be it.
