Ted Ginn Discusses The Wide Receiver Position In The 49ers System

Ted Ginn Jr. took a few minutes to chat with CSN Bay Area yesterday about preparing for the season and the work the wide receivers have done thus far in training camp (h/t to Drew for finding this video). The highlight had to be Anthony Dixon walking by behind Ginn and letting the audience know how he felt. He certainly does enjoy himself.

Ginn didn't have a ton of specifics, but it was interesting to hear him discuss how the receivers have been practicing a bit at all the positions. Ideally the team would be able to create a whole host of mismatches each week and moving the receivers between the various roles on the field would help with that.

It will be interesting to see what kind of role the 49ers have in mind for Ginn. He has dealt with some drops in the past but it sounds like he really impressed the coaching staff in training camp. They have him listed as a sort of co-starter with Braylon Edwards opposite Josh Morgan. We don't really know what this means with Michael Crabtree healthy again. This Sunday will give us an idea of the plan, but given the limited practice time for Crabtree, I'm not sure if we'll be able to fully lock into the team's strategy.

Check out the video after the jump and head over to CSN Bay Area to view more 49ers video.
