2012 East-West Shrine Game: Thankfully Not On Our Radar Thus Far

Over the last five years, this week has normally been reserved for East-West Shrine Game coverage. The 49ers have been sitting on the sidelines for the playoffs, which means we have gotten fully into draft coverage by now. Thankfully, that is not the case this season. The 49ers have plenty of bigger things to worry about this weekend with the NFC Championship Game kicking off at 3:30pm PT tomorrow.

Nonetheless, the Shrine Game kicks off at 1:00pm PT on the NFL Network and I figured some folks would like to discuss the game and the draft prospects participating. Mike Mayock will be providing color commentary for the game, and if you have not had a chance to check out his in-game discussion, I highlight recommend it. He is solid for NFL games, but this is right in his wheelhouse.

The folks at Mocking The Draft have some NFL Draft notes heading into the game. Additionally, you can head into the story archives to view some of their breakdown of the week of practice. For these "all-star games" the week of practice is generally considered more important than the game itself. SB Nation also has a story stream covering the Shrine Game, so check that out if you are looking for more coverage. Finally, Wes Bunting takes a look at his Top Ten Prospects for today's game.
