49ers open as sizable favorites over Buffalo Bills

We take a look at the 49ers opening line against the Buffalo Bills heading into their Week 5 matchup.

Debby Wong-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Although Week 4 of the 2012 NFL season is not yet complete, that won't stop us from beginning to peak ahead to Week 5. The wrap of most Week 4 games means we start to see some opening lines for Week 5 contests. The 49ers host the Buffalo Bills next week, and since both teams played early games on Sunday, we have an opening line.

The opening line is varying among sites with it ranging between 8 and 9 1/2 points. The 49ers are the clear-cut favorite, but it will be interesting to see which way the line moves. I think the 49ers can win this game by double digits, but I doubt that I am the normal betting public.

At this point, injury news should not have a significant impact on the betting line. Fred Jackson and C.J. Spiller were both back in the lineup against the Patriots after previous injuries. Spiller was OK with a 4.1 YPC, but only managed eight touches. Fred Jackson got the bulk of the carries with 13 rushes for 29 yards. Both will be a week healthier so that might influence the public, but I don't see it having much of an impact.
