The San Francisco 49ers do not get going until 1:25pm PT this afternoon, so in the meantime here is your open thread for the AM slate of games. There are not a ton of huge games, but there are some interesting matchups that should keep you interested.
The big game of the morning would have to be Cowboys at Ravens. The Ravens are 4-1 and sitting atop the AFC North, while the Cowboys are 2-2 and a half game back of the Eagles and Giants in the NFC East. For the Ravens, the team as a whole and Joe Flacco in particular need to bounce back from a poor showing in their win over the Chiefs. It was a win, but it was not a pretty win. The Cowboys have as good a chance as anybody in the NFC East and simply need to maintain pace for now. A road win over the Ravens would look awfully good right about now.
The NFC West is represented by the Rams as they travel to Miami to face the Dolphins. The Rams sit a mere game back of the 49ers and Cardinals. While I do not think they will hang around deep into the season, a road win could provide them with some legs. Of course, the Dolphins are quietly hanging around in the AFC East. The Dolphins are 2-3, but have lost a pair of overtime games to the Jets and Cardinals.
The third game I'm particularly intrigued by is the Lions-Eagles matchup. The Lions are 1-3 and need to get on track, having lost three straight games. I'm not really sure what to make of them at this point. I don't think they're as bad as their record might indicate, but they are not looking too good.
We'll be back at noon PT with the inactives, followed by the first game thread at 1:15pm PT.
