The 49ers and Seahawks square off later tonight in a key divisional showdown at Candlestick Park. Given that this is a nationally televised game, and also the only game this week, the studio helped myself and Kenneth Arthur from Field Gulls put together a couple videos breaking down the 49ers-Seahawks matchup. In the NN version, I break down three keys to the game, then fire off three questions to Kenny, with his responses edited in to this video. The Field Gulls side of things should be done in just a little bit. I'll post that video later today.
In terms of my three keys to this game, the first two focus on the rushing games. While the quarterbacks are significant storylines on Thursday Night Football, I think the team that establishes the run is the team that wins. Both rushing attacks can do good things, but both teams have strong rushing defenses.
I also brought up special teams. The 49ers special teams have taken a nose dive since last season. Given what Ted Ginn Jr. did to the Seahawks in last year's season opener, special teams will be something to watch all night long.
