49ers vs. Seahawks inactive report: Brandon Jacobs, Joe Staley active, Mario Manningham inactive

We break down the 49ers inactive report for Thursday Night Football against the Seahawks

Brian Bahr

And finally it happens! After six weeks sitting on the sideline, Brandon Jacobs will be active in the regular season for the first time as a member of the 49ers. Given the limited rushing from the 49ers last week, I have to think we will see a whole lot of ground and pound this week. The Seahawks bring a strong rushing defense, so we'll see what the 49ers can accomplish.

More importantly from a health standpoint, Joe Staley is active only a few days after suffering a concussion against the New York Giants. There is a thorough process for clearing players, so I am going to figure that he is good to go as far as the neurologists are concerned.

Mario Manningham will sit out with his shoulder injury. He worked with the trainers before the game, but he must have not quite gotten to where they were comfortable. This makes for an interesting situation at wide receiver with Jenkins also inactive. I would imagine Kyle Williams will get the bulk of the snaps opposite Michael Crabtree. Randy Moss is usually listed as the starter opposite Crabtree, but Williams usually gets more snaps. Nonetheless, Moss could see some more snaps as well.

49ers inactives: WR Mario Manningham, WR A.J. Jenkins, RB LaMichael James, G Joe Looney, NT Ian Williams, S Trenton Robinson, QB Scott Tolzien
