The 49ers players were back in the office on Tuesday in a day of player meetings and media availability. Brandon Jacobs chatted with the media and CSN's Mindi Bach tweeted out a few of his comments:
#49ers Brandon Jacobs on possibility he'll play first game of seasonv Bills: "I’m ready to play. It’s nothing now. It’s all gone now."

More Jacobs: "Hopefully, get out and go practice this week, take some reps & do some hard running & see where things go from there." #49ers

The 49ers faced several instances where a healthy Brandon Jacobs could have been a difference-maker. Matt Maiocco took a look at the 49ers third down struggles, and there were some third and short situations where a rumbling Jacobs could have made a difference.
If Jacobs is available this coming week, it will be interesting to see how the 49ers utilize the big back. He was looking really sharp in preseason before getting hurt. The 49ers continue to have some third down struggles, and converting on some of these third and shorts would be huge for the 49ers offense.
