Golden Nuggets: Get that finger healed up, Alex Smith

Saturday, October 20th, 2012 edition of the Golden Nuggets, a daily compilation of 49ers links from around the web.

Thearon W. Henderson

It seems like any post about Alex Smith is prone to blow up in comments. Those for and against him as the starting quarterback seem to bicker nonstop, and it's totally understandable. Rather, it's understandable that people with differing opinions bicker, but I don't believe it's understandable that there is someone out there who is for Colin Kaepernick starting. Yes, I am adamant that Smith has shown a clear regression over the past two weeks, but don't mistake that to mean I want him on the sidelines.

Not by a longshot. Smith gives this team the best chance to win, and until he uncorks another multiple-interception game, I'm plenty happy with what he brings to the table. I just wish he'd stop trying to force things and slow things down a little bit. At any rate, we're going to jump right into your links, same as yesterday, because it is once again almost five in the morning here. Enjoy.
