Golden Nuggets: Questionable concussion handling by 49ers?

Tuesday, November 13th, 2012 edition of the Golden Nuggets, a daily compilation of San Francisco 49ers links from around the web.

Brian Bahr

I really do hate to see the reports regarding Alex Smith and his concussion - the ones that say Smith threw his touchdown pass with blurred vision. While I commend him for his ability in the clutch and while under siege, I firmly do not believe Jim Harbaugh when he says that Smith suffered the concussion at a different time. I do not believe that the concussion symptoms occurred later on ... I just think that most teams in the NFL care more about winning (or getting a tie, I guess) in the heat of the moment and maybe turn a blind eye.

I'm not condemning the coaching staff or Smith or anything, I just hate to see that kind of thing happen. It's one of the reasons I have a profound dislike for guys who say things like "mild concussion," or "concussion-like symptoms," even though the latter is just as bad as "he just got his bell rung."

At any rate, we move on from that LOL of a football game and face a tougher foe on Monday Night Football: the Chicago Bears. Onto your links for the day.
