The 49ers get an extra day this week to get ready for Monday Night Football as they look to get the taste of a tie out of their mouths. The 49ers will host the Chicago Bears in a game in which they are sitting as five point favorites. The line is not available at all sports books because of question marks surrounding the quarterback situations. It appears more and more likely that Alex Smith will play, while Jay Cutler sat out Thursday practice and is looking questionable for now.
The big question in this game is not really what Jason Campbell could potentially do in place of Jay Cutler, but rather what the 49ers offense can do against this tough Bears defense. One oddsmaker had the over/under set at 27, while most others are not even listing an over/under. Even at 27, I'd be tempted to grab the under in what could be a defensive struggle.
I do think the 49ers can cover this spread, but I do think this will be a knock-down, drag-out brawl. Pick your cliche because they will all be fitting. In my mind, this will come down to which ground game can gain the most traction. Which ever team can get going on the ground potentially is the one that will take home the win.
On to the rest of the picks for this week:
