NFL afternoon game open thread

We break down the Week 11 afternoon games and provide an open thread for discussion.

Jared Wickerham

The morning NFL action was an odd mix of not a ton of highlights, but quite a few close games. Games are still wrapping up but I wanted to get the afternoon thread up with Saints-Raiders started and the other two about to get started. It's a pretty entertaining afternoon slate with Saints-Raiders, Colts-Patriots and Chargers-Broncos.

There is little to no impact on the 49ers, but it's some entertaining football. I think the Raiders can get the upset, but I'd go with the Patriots and Broncos winning as favorites. The game I'm most looking forward to would be Colts-Patriots. The Patriots aren't a particularly good defense, but it is still a tough road test for Andrew Luck. When playing remotely decent teams on the road, he has not had quite the same numbers. We'll see what he can do against the AFC East leaders.

The Saints will be looking to stick around the playoff chase as a win would move them to 5-5. They are still on the outside looking in, but 5-5 keeps them right in the thick of things. Even though some many may dislike the Raiders, I think we'd prefer seeing the Saints lose. Not so much because of having to play them in the postseason, but just to see them lose for losing's sake.
