NFL Power Rankings, Week 10: 49ers leap Giants

We break down Week 10 NFL power rankings, and where the 49ers are situated.

Mark J. Rebilas-US PRESSWIRE

Week 9 of the NFL season has wrapped up and the 49ers are getting back in gear for Week 10. The players return to Santa Clara today and we should get the first injury report of the week tomorrow.

In the meantime, most of the rest of the league was playing this past weekend. The most notable "upset" of the day would have to have been the Steelers going into the Meadowlands and beating the Giants. I don't think it qualifies as a "shocking" upset, but it was an upset nonetheless, and it dropped the Giants behind the 49ers in various power rankings.

The only other significant change in any of the rankings saw the Bears leapfrog the 49ers in ESPN's rankings. The two teams will square off in two weeks on Monday Night Football, in a matchup that could give one team an early edge in the battle for the No. 2 seed.

The biggest shake-up this week will likely come from the matchup of the 7-1 Texans and the 7-1 Bears. There is always the chance for a Saints upset of the Falcons, but Houston-Chicago guarantees one team drops in the rankings.

Here are your various power rankings heading Week 10:
