49ers injury report: All's well, knock on wood

We break down the 49ers first practice participation report of Week 10.

Stephen Dunn

The 49ers released their first practice participation report for Week 10, and so far all seems well on the health front. The 49ers listed several players on the report, but all were listed as full participants. That list included:

LB Tavares Gooden (elbow)
RB Frank Gore (hand)
G Daniel Kilgore (concussion)
P Andy Lee (hand)
WR Mario Manningham (shoulder)
QB Alex Smith (right finger)
DT Will Tukuafu (wrist)

The requirements related to injury reporting can be a bit sketchy at times, which has led to Bill Belichick frequently listing half his players as limited during the week and then questionable for game day. In this case, we've seen several of these players listed before, with Andy Lee making a recurring appearance since the week leading up to the Lions game.

Daniel Kilgore was arguably the most serious based on what we knew heading into this week. He suffered a concussion on the opening kickoff of Monday Night Football, but had the bye to rest up. He was wearing a black no-contact jersey during Tuesday's practice, but would seem to be good to go at this point.

For now, the 49ers remain in good shape on the health front (knock on wood). Someone posted a link a little while back to a Peter King podcast in which he interviewed Donte Whitner. During the podcast, Whitner discussed how different the approach was of the 49ers strength and conditioning folks. I'll try and pull up some quotations at some point.
