49ers game day: What's your viewing set-up?

We take a look at how people are set up for game day, and provide a chance to win an entertainment center makeover.

Thomas Campbell-US PRESSWIRE

In an interesting twist, just as we have this post about what our viewing set-up is like, I travel out to San Francisco for the week to check out 49ers-Rams on Sunday. I got in Wednesday and am leaving next Wednesday, getting a chance to check out the game, but also a chance to catch up with all my friends out here. Having lived in San Francisco for nine years, I accumulated a good number of friends during that time.

I'll be at the game on Sunday, which is not a frequent experience for me. Normally I watch the games from home because I can have my set-up just right. I've got my 32" HD TV (purchased in 2008), some food and drink, my laptop, and I'm generally set to kick back and relax. I would like to upgrade my television and add some better sound options, but for the most part, I stick with a simple set-up. I'm "working" to a certain extent during the game, so I generally don't want too many distractions.

How are you set up? Do you have your own "man-cave" decked out with 50" plasmas? Do you have your favorite seat at the local sports bar? Are you tailgating in the parking lot and then listening on the radio during the game? Football is a sport where you can get so much out of being there in person, get an entirely different experience watching from home, and get a third even greater difference watching at a sports bar.

If you are a home set-up kind of person, Samsung has an entertainment center "makeover" contest they are currently running. Enter between now and November 25 and you can potentially win a living room makeover, including a full suite of Samsung products and remodeling worth between $10,000 and $15,000.
