Golden Nuggets: Get Dashon Goldson a new contract!

Tuesday, December 18th, 2012 edition of the Golden Nuggets, a daily compilation of San Francisco 49ers links from around the Internet.

Jim Rogash

I took some time to watch some film from Sunday's game yesterday and I must say one thing: Dashon Goldson and Donte Whitner are really, really good. Most of you know that I was very lukewarm on bringing Goldson back for anything approaching a big contract in recent years - the guy just had too many bad plays mixed in with the big ones - but this year has changed that perception for me.

Goldson makes big plays. Awesome plays. I want to see him back, I'm just glad that the 49ers made NaVorro Bowman a priority, because I do recall several people on this site suggesting that Goldson was more important than "an inside linebacker." Outside of acquiring a new right defensive end for when Justin Smith takes his leave, I'd call the re-signing of Goldson one of the top priorities.

Anyway - let's get to the linkage for the day. Enjoy, chilllllldren.
