Vernon Davis injury update: 49ers TE ruled out with concussion

49ers tight end Vernon Davis has been ruled out in the second quarter of Sunday Night Football after suffering a concussion on a huge hit from Seahawks safety Kam Chancellor. Davis caught a pass inside the Seahawks ten yard line and took a huge hit that resulted in a personal foul on Chancellor. The play did result in an incompletion as well. Davis exited the game with one catch for 27 yards.

The departure of Davis means Delanie Walker becomes the No. 1 tight end and Garrett Celek becomes the No. 2 tight end. Davis has struggled to get much going with Colin Kaepernick. The two have been working together on the side, so we'll have to wait and see if they can improve on the chemistry. In the meantime, the 49ers offense continues to try and figure out some way to solve the Seahawks physical defense and incredibly loud crowd.
