Mario Manningham knee injury is not pretty

49ers wide receiver Mario Manningham suffered a brutal knee injury and is unlikely to return to Sunday Night Football, let alone the 2012 season. I suppose it might have looked worse than it actually was, but it looks pretty awful. You can see some bones moving around in the knee, and it's just not a good thing.

Manningham was active after missing two games with a shoulder injury. A.J. Jenkins was active in his place, but he is inactive for Sunday Night Football because Manningham was back for this game. That leaves the 49ers incredibly limited with only three wide receivers: Michael Crabtree, Randy Moss and Ted Ginn Jr. With Vernon Davis also out with a concussion, the 49ers are left with Delanie Walker and Garrett Celek at tight end. With the skill position players running out of options, it seems like the only hope for this game is to try and get out without any more injuries.

GIF here, but be warned the knee doesn't look good.
