The San Francisco 49ers had a bad day on Sunday, not only losing big to the Seattle Seahawks but losing wide receiver Mario Manningham for the rest of the season.
During their 42-13 loss to the Seahawks, Manningham hauled in a pass that was eventually fumbled, and went down with what appeared to be a knee injury. After getting a Monday MRI, it was revealed that he tore both his ACL and PCL.Adam Schefter had the report on Twitter when it was announced he would miss the rest of the playoffs as well as the final game of the year against the Cardinals.
Manningham has been the third-leading receiver on the 49ers this season, with 449 yards through the air. Only Michael Crabtree and tight end Vernon Davis have more yards than Manningham. Davis might also be in injury trouble, suffering from a possible concussion.
San Francisco will try to up their playoff seed in its final regular-season game against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
