49ers vs. Dolphins injury report: Mario Manningham sits out

We break down the 49ers and Dolphins Wednesday injury reports.

Stacy Revere

The 49ers and Dolphins both got in their first formal practice sessions of the week, and we've got the first practice participation reports.

The big news for the 49ers is the inclusion of Tarell Brown and Mario Manningham. Brown was on the injury report last week with a knee issue, but was a full participant. This week, he is sitting out with a hamstring issue. Add in Chris Culliver being limited in practice, and Carlos Rogers listed as full with a knee issue, and that's a bit of a banged up secondary. We'll see what the rest of the week brings.

Manningham is not a surprise on the list due to the shoulder injury suffered last Sunday, but it's still pretty pertinent. If he is unable to go this Sunday, the 49ers would be down to four receivers: Michael Crabtree, Randy Moss, Ted Ginn Jr. and A.J. Jenkins. That would seem to virtually guarantee some measure of playing time for Jenkins. I suppose Ginn could get the snaps, but at some point the 49ers have to give their rookie receiver a shot.
